He grinned slightly. "They'll thank me for the bomb arrows too, once I get them balanced enough for use."

HE closed his eyes. "I am trying very hard not to think about those," he admitted.

"I could half of this stuff blindfolded. Don't worry about it!"


It was the monsters you had to worry about.

"I worry."

"I'm the safest person in the world to use those, trust me."

Link gestured to some of his drawings. "See, those things are useful against those things."

"Safest is still not a guarantee of safe. I worried as your friend and worry as your parent. IT's what you do when you love someone."

[younghero]

"Well...think of it this way. The weapons keep the monsters from eating my face. So, that means weapons help keep me safe."

He had the scars to prove this.

He was rubbing at his own face with a small sigh. "That does help," he said, weakly.

[younghero]

"And weapons make me happy. Kinda. They're all neat, I like getting new ones, too."

[guru_clef]

"Is there nothing else in this world that makes you happier?"

[younghero]

Link hesitated. "Anything that helps Zelda or Hyrule or my friends," he said slowly. "But, if you mean just-for-me stuff? I like to go fishing, and I like fresh milk and sweets."

"I think that's something we can work on."

He smiled, then blinked.

"Oh yes, someone taught me how to bend these. I was not crazy about them, but perhaps you will enjoy the taste." He focused and Bent up some lemon drops. He held them out.

"Work on it how?" Link was puzzled.

He took one of the yellow candies. "What kind are these? They look a little like hard sap."

Link put the drop in his mouth and winced. "Ergh! Sour!" His expression changed as he rolled the candy in his mouth. "Oh, hey, it sweetens up. Weird!"

"Work on making sure you have a healthy amount of fresh milk and sweets, especially after a hard day of working hard at your studies."

"Weird about sums up my reaction to it as well. But then I did not like the sweet any more than the sour."

"It's different! Not too bad, and a lot better than that black jelly bean I ate when I was Link Atwood."

Link chewed the drop, before reaching under his bed for a box. To get it, he had to move a mask out of the way. "Want a manju?"

Black.... nope. He did NOT want to know.

"What is a manju?"

[younghero]

"They sell them in Castle Town. They're cakes and there's sweet paste in 'em." Red bean paste in this case.

Link offered the box.

Thank goodness for laz....

Castle... town... The urge to ask who named these places was strong, but he resisted.

"Thank you," he said taking one with a nod. "Did you bend these yourself?"

What else would you call the city surrounding Hyrule Castle?

"Nah, they have these in the Market. Reminds me of home, so I got them."

[guru_clef]

He nodded and took a cautious bite. "Not bad," he said at first, then he got to the filling on his second bite. "But perhaps a drop too sweet for me."

[younghero]

"I like 'em. Hey, we should all have dinner together---you, me, Zelda, Shadow---it could be fun!"

[guru_clef]

"I would like that. Very much. We could each add something to the meal, so that it is from all of us for all of us." As a family.

[younghero]

"Yeah! Like...uh...rice balls or fish!"

It'd be pretty great to have a fun thing with the three most important people in his life.

"And I am learning to Bend breads and other baked foods."

[younghero]

"I wonder what Zelda and Shadow would like?"

He was excited. Both his princess and his "twin". Fun!
