“There’s really no teleportation? Or birds?”

Link was disappointed. Flying in a machine seemed downright dull.

"Of course there are birds, but unless you happen to be one, that helps how?"

That earned a blink.

“They can fly you,” he said slowly. “You ride in their talons.”

"What kind of birds do you have?" Freddie asked. "Cause the only bird I could think of strong enough to do that might be Diablo and my bet is he'd sooner kill you."

“There’s giant owls. A giant owl. And there’s legends of even bigger birds people rode like horses.”

"Yeah no, not here. Here we ride planes. Or the occasional magic carpet, but I'm not sure where he...oh. Betcha he's in Agrabah!"

“Planes are boring...” he muttered to himself. “And it’ll take forever....”

Magic carpets were something he was actually familiar with, and felt were more trustworthy. Even if he did prefer teleportation or horseback.

Freddie shrugged. "Wouldn't know. I think Mal's been on one once, though."

“I’d still rather teleport...”

Link sighed. “Or ride a horse. But, what should I do now?”

"Well teleporting is out, but we could probably get steal horse or two," Freddie said. "But it'll take us a long time to get to Agrabah on horseback."

“Like a day or two? That’s not too awful.”

At the prospect of being able to ride, Link noticeably brightened.

"Wow, not at all what I said, that takes skill. I said a horse or two. It'll probably take a few weeks, if the horses survive the blistering heat of the desert."

“What kinda fragile horses do you guys have? The Gerudo use horses and they live in the desert full time. And you could always travel at night. It’s frigid, but, easier...”

Link sighed. “I still think I can get the ocarina working....think anyone would notice a small rainstorm?”

"Uh, normal ones? And yeah, probably." Please take this all with a grain of salt as Freddie has maybe actually SEEN a horse at most twice in her life.

Link privately felt a magicless kingdom with delicate horses was asking to be invaded. Now he regretted viewing them as a threat to Hyrule. If anything, this place might need Hyrule’s protection!

Distracted, Link played an idle scale on the Ocarina of Time, which became the Song of Storms, without him thinking it through.

Freddie eyed the gathering clouds. "Um........." She quickly started putting away her cards.

Link was unfazed, still playing, until he felt a raindrop.

Utterly delighted, he looked at the sky and then back at the instrument in his hands. “Alright!! You do work here!!!”

"Hey, so guess what, this is the part where I split," Jay said, vaulting over the bleachers to head off.

"Hey! WAIT!" Freddie called after him. "COWARD!"

He spun to gave them a double thumbs up while running backwards.

"If you get me sent back to the Isle or ruin my cards I will straight up murder you," she told Link.

“You’re not gonna get sent anywhere,” Link said calmly, watching Jay’s retreat. “And there’s a line.”

He paused. “Actually, don’t,...Shadow, might get upset.”

"It isn't the RAIN we're worried about," she snapped.

“Yeah, I know. You have nothing to do with this.”

"You think she's going to buy that for a penny slug?" she asked, pointing to the approching, and angry looking, head master.

“I’ll tell her the truth,” Link said evenly. "If she's gonna be mad at someone, it should be me. If she doesn't believe the truth, then there's something very wrong with her."
