“You can’t just fly or walk to Hyrule,” Link said a bit coolly.

"Perhaps it is the case," Ben said. "Or perhaps it is connected to one of our Kingdoms and we just don't know it yet. We can start with research. And even if it is the case that you cannot simply walk or fly there, perhaps we can use technology to build a way for you to return, and to open diplomatic relations as well."

“Diplomatic relations with a nation that actively harms magical creatures? I’m not sure how enthused Zelda would be...”

"Actively harms?" he asked, frowning. "IF there is a concern about my realm, I do need to know about it."

Link huffed. “Are fairies allowed to use magic?”

"They are of course allowed to do what they need to survive, but spells and curses and blessings are forbidden. We have had too much history with spells of that sort that my father saw fit to write the laws as he did."

Link pinched the bridge of his nose. “That’s insane.”

"We have had a bed history in parts of the kingdom with the magic of certain pixies and fairies."

Mal looked irritated.

“Fairies don’t deserve to be treated like that. They’ve saved my life more times than I can count.”

Link made an expansive gesture. “Between healing me, giving me abilities, and being my best friend...”

"And some have saved my childhood best friend's mother. But one also cursed her and nearly killed her. This way it is fair across the board and someone who would do that larger curse would show signs first by breaking the laws against magic in small ways. At least, that was my father's theory."

“It’s not fair, you’re forcing people to live without a part of themselves!”

"You could make that argument for any law. By disallowing murder, there are those who would claim they are being denied a part of themselves."

“You are seriously comparing an art to murder?”

Link looked unimpressed.

"Given how magic has been used in Auradon, conditionally, yes."

“Okay. So, it was very nice to meet you all. I’m going to try and find a way home, away from your bigot king. You’re all welcome to come and live free with us, uh....yeah.”

Link pulled out his ocarina to try going to the temples.

"Excuse me?" he asked, angrily.

"Um..." Mal said.

"Oh dear," Ally said, hands to her mouth.

“Look. I’m trying to find a way home, so I don’t do something stupid.”

He played a few notes to warm up.

"And what exactly is it you think you are in danger of doing?" Ben asked a little tightly.

"Should have brought popcorn," Jay said in a stage whisper to Carlos, who hit him in the arm. And then shook out his hand.

“Punching a bigot.” Link continued his warmup.

Ben actually growled and the sound was more animal than human.

"Okay and that's that," Mal said hopping up, she jerked her head towards the door violently.

Jay got out of his chair and grabbed at Link, trying to pull him from the rook, or failing that, to snag his Ocirina. Link, meet this world's single best pickpocket/thief. Who is also an athlete used to fighting dirty. If he can he will lift you by one arm and simply carry you out of the room.

Link ‘s ocarina vanished into a pocket and he picked up a chair to break over the bigger boy if he had to.

“Back. Off.”

He’d been a punching bag for the first ten years of his life. Self-defense was natural.

The bigger boy looked unimpressed, crossing his arms. "We''re leaving the room, up to you if you walk or are carried. You wouldn't be the first person I've stolen, though usually I stick to hearts," he said tossing a wink at Jordan and Ally. Jordan's eyes rolled, Ally flushed.

“You seriously don’t want to try,” Link warned. “And I was trying to leave the room when you came at me.”

“Look, I get accidents happen. I’m not upset I got brought here accidentally. But, I’m kinda getting a little upset you guys won’t let me try to go home. I’m pretty sure that’s considered kidnapping.”

He backed towards the door, still keeping the chair between himself and the larger boy.

"If you want me to leave the room, for crying out loud, ask. Don't try to assault me, I might accidentally hurt you."

He was completely sincere.

"Fine. this is me asking. And going with you." IF for no other reason than to keep the kid from coming across Chad or Audrey. Somehow this guy thought Ben was a bigot... yeah... Jay did not want to have to actually defend either of the idiots. Not when he would want to join in the smack down.

Link set the chair down and exited the room without showing his back to anyone.

"Don't try to touch me," he muttered, putting hand in his pocket to keep on the Ocarina of Time.
